Peter Donato – President, Chief Running Officer

Peter is an accomplished, visionary leader with over 26 years of experience in marketing and distribution, including special events management, business development, promotions and advertising.

Peter’s interest in Endurance Sports was ignited in 1995 as a new member of the distance running community, running 4 marathons in his first 12 months!  This included the New York City Marathon and the 100th running of the Boston Marathon, the first early wave of running’s boom in popularity.  He then honed his volunteer passion at the 2000 and 2001 World Cup Toronto Triathlon, where he was responsible for Elite Athlete liasion, home-host coordination and finish line gantry construction.  Inspired by his direct connection to a cherished sport and community, Peter knew he had found a home. He went on to secure a position at the Canada Running Series, overseeing logistic, marketing, distribution and sponsorship for all five Toronto-area races. The rest is history!

An entrepreneur at heart,  Peter branched out on his own in 2003 and founded All Sports Marketing to provide distribution and marketing services for local races and events.  All Sports Marketing’s client list now reads like a who’s who of the sports endurance community, nationally across Canada and now Internationally:  The Ride to Conquer Cancer, The Weekend to End Women’s Cancers, Canada Running Series, Mud Hero, Warrior Dash, the Arthritis Society Walk and many, many more. All Sports Marketing is quickly reaching the international community as well, with clients as far away as New Zealand and Australia. In 2004, Peter launched, now the premier web portal for the race and event community with its unique Banana Ratings review feature, like a “Rotten Tomatoes” for athletes.  In 2015 he acquired Road Race and expanded this popular running website across Canada.

Remaining active in the sport, Peter has completed 16 marathons, including 5 in Boston, an Ironman Triathlon, along with hundreds of adventure and obstacle races, triathlons and road races too numerous to mention.  He celebrated turning 45 by racing that many events in one year!  We won’t even mention his Guinness World Records. Peter and his beloved dog Jefferson live, work and play near Lake Ontario in Toronto with his wife and daughter.
